Who are we?
Coral Reef & Rainforest Conservation Project is an environmental conservation registered with the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit organization, under reg. no. 2023030092576-13.
Our environmental advocacy is focused towards the protection of key ecosystems that host rich and threatened biodiversity through research, experiential education, building capacities and sustainable projects with communities affected by wildlife loss.
THE CHALLENGE /
Nature in decline
Rainforests and coral reefs are the most productive and diverse ecosystems on Earth, one on land, the other underwater. Their natural richness feed and protect people as long as in return it is nourished and protected. However, because of overloading pressures, they are severely threatened and have been declining at an alarming rate over the past years. The increasing risk of losing these incredible ecosystems is further presenting cascading impacts on other parts of the environment.
The Philippines is one of 17 mega-biodiverse countries containing two thirds of the earth’s biodiversity. The archipelago is home to more coastal reefs than anywhere else in the world, and has some of the richest marine and terrestrial biodiversity to protect. It is the frontline for the preservation of such fragile and rich ecosystems.
OUR STAND /
At CRCP, we see the disconnect between our ways of life, threatening the natural balance of our environment. We aim to increase environmental literacy and raise awareness on the beauty and value of key ecosystems that host rich and threatened biodiversity, to spark passion and inspiration to protect them. We empower and plant the seeds to grow a new generation of conservationists, where skills and the knowledge of taking care of our planet are intertwined with a mindful way of living that is accessible to all.
