Environmental literacy
Ensuring a future where people are skilled and educated about protecting their planet
Our views
Conservation can take so many roads. In our vision, we wish to take the social one. We believe we are stronger, together. There are so many dynamic, skilled, talented, men and women who, with a little bit of support would be more than delighted to do good for environment if only given tools for it, if only shown the value of nature and how to protect it. We believe in empowering people, creating capabilities, and linking communities in a common goal: protecting our environment & us, to create a future that nurture us all.
1. Teaching the next generation
OUR WORK /
Inspiring local kids to understand & protect nature
Since 2025, CRCP is partnering with local schools to conduct environmental programs with the aim to inspire kids to be curious about their environment, and already learn about how to become ambassadors of its conservation. They learn how to recognize important species, understand pressures and challenges they face, the important laws and behavior to respect, and overall are inspired to care and love for their incredible local natural resources. The program is taught in local language and adapted to different age groups (we teach classes from elementary to high school, but adapt the content) and made in multiple sessions to deepen the kids experience, comfort and cover multiple themes. We teach about coral reefs, local biodiversity from fish, invertebrates to corals themselves, we teach about marine conservation, Marine Protected Areas, Mangroves and seagrass. Of course, we also teach about terrestrial conservation and the importance of forests. Finally, we spend an entire session focusing on waste management and breaking free from plastic.

Our impact in numbers.
175+ youth
engaged in our environmental literacy program since Q4 2025
5 partner local schools
in 2 municipality and plans to expand many more schools
30+ classes already conducted
and many more planned throughout the year
2. Building capabilities among coastal resource managers & marine tourism professionals
OUR WORK /
Developing projects and initiatives to develop skills and knowledge among CRM professionals
CRCP works closely with Local Governments Units (LGUs), People’s Associations (PAs) in charge of managing Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), professional tourism stakeholders, and so on, to support local marine conservation actions. We commonly organize professional trainings and workshops in marine and or terrestrial ecology, environmental laws and enforcement, sustainable tourism management, etc. to support our partner’s goals and improve their environmental conservation outputs. Over the last few months, we worked with Marine Protected Area managers, DOT and marine touristic guides, specialized team in LGUs and environmental agencies.

Our impact in numbers.
111+ CRM and marine stakeholders
included in professional training and workshops
80+ accredited marine guides
exposed to marine ecology, marine laws and best practices, and sustainable tourism management
3+ partnered MPAs
with regular workshops and support sessions
3. Calling nature lovers to inspire them to take action to protect the environment
OUR WORK /
We launched an educational platform & are running programs accessible to all nature lovers
Facing the environmental crisis, we need more hands, more resources in marine conservation. Realistically, scientists and conservationists cannot, alone, manifest the change we need. At CRCP, we’re optimists. We believe so many would help, if they knew how to. If environmental conservation was made easy and accessible. This is why since 2023 we created an environmental platform and are conducting regular environmental programs and courses ever since to support our mission of sharing skills and environmental knowledge. We teach about coral reefs, about the incredible marine diversity of species present in the Philippines from fishes to corals and invertebrates. We teach about seagrass, mangroves, rainforests. We teach about sustainability, how to be the right kind of tourist, we teach about diet and reducing our environmental footprint on a daily basis. We teach about plastic, marine debris and how to contribute to better outcomes for the planet. Our goals with these programs ? Inspire to adopt best behaviors for nature, inspire to share them, inspire to take action. Because the more we are doing this, the more chances of positive impact we have.
Because there is a cost in running such programs, we cannot provide them for free. We however do our best to keep them as affordable as possible. Aside from the raw cost, a small participation fee is added. As such, by joining a course or programs, our guests support our conservation actions: 100% of the profits goes to fund our research and community outreach goals.

4. Coaching a new generation of environmentalists and citizen scientists
We are dramatically lacking real life data to monitor the changes in our environment and support coastal resources management and policies making in the Philippines. Real life, accurate, standardized data. You do not need to be a scientist to collect it, you simply need to have the time, will and patience to learn your species, the dedication to follow a strict methodology, the passion to participate in environmental conservation. The rest, we’ll do. You want to participate in building a strong data base to support coral reef conservation in the Philippines ? We are building teams of citizen scientists all around the country. Let us coach you into becoming a environmental diver and making a change for the coral reefs of the Philippines.
