Coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass meadows and tropical forests support extraordinary biodiversity and the people and communities who depend on these ecosystems. But protecting them requires more than passion. It requires research, monitoring, education, local capacity and long-term conservation action. It requires as well time, the right people & skillset, equipment and commitment.
At Coral Reef & Rainforest Conservation Project, we work to protect key biodiversity habitats in the Philippines through science-based conservation, experiential education and capacity building. Your donation helps us turn that work into action.
When you support CRCP, you help us:
- Understand local ecosystems – Fund ecological research and monitoring that helps us understand the condition of coral reefs and other important habitats in remote areas tagged for their high biodiversity & conservation value.
- Protect biodiversity – Support practical conservation actions that help protect threatened ecosystems and the species that depend on them in areas that lack funding and care despite high species richness.
- Educate & empower – Give local kids, students, divers, community members and conservationists the knowledge and skills to become part of the solution.
- Support local conservation – Work alongside communities and local stakeholders to strengthen conservation and management of natural resources.
- Equip conservationists – Help provide the equipment and resources needed to carry out field research, monitoring and conservation activities.

Make a Difference
What can your donation help make possible?
Every contribution matters, whether it is a one-time donation or ongoing monthly support.
Here are examples of the types of costs your donation can help us meet:
- ₱800 — helps cover the costs of teaching a class of local elementary or high school kids / session about environmental science and conservation the importance of protecting our environment
- ₱1,500 — helps covers the equipment costs of conducting field research work & coral reef health monitoring for a day. (A full Marine Protected Area assessment usually takes 4,5 days)
- ₱3,000 — contributes to the training of one team of Marine Protected Areas guides / Bantay Dagat in reef ecology and sustainable tourism management to better protect their reef.
- ₱7,000 — helps covers equipment costs of conducting scientific fieldwork & coral reef health assessment in Marine Protected Area of 6 hectares area.
- ₱10,000+ — contributes to purchasing research equipment to support our marine and terrestrial conservation outputs (such as binoculars, research slates, lab equipment, scientific diving equipment, etc.)
- ₱50,000+ — contributes to purchasing equipment to support our plastic recycling project from local beach clean ups.
These examples illustrate areas your donation can support rather than representing the exact cost of a specific activity. Donations are allocated according to CRCP’s current priorities unless a specific purpose is agreed in advance.
Your donation supports independent conservation
CRCP is a small, independent, field-based environmental organization. We are not a large international charity. Our strength is our ability to work directly on the ground, respond to local conservation needs and build long-term relationships with communities and conservation partners.
Your support helps us maintain the people, skills, equipment and field capacity needed to keep doing that work.
When you support CRCP, you are helping conservation happen where it matters : in the field, giving back to nature and local communities.

Unless specified to a specific purpose, all monetary donations go to our operational & development fund. This means that they help us in our conservation actions by allowing us to purchase or maintain much needed equipment to further our research. This can go from binoculars to observe species in the forests or far seas, to dive gear, to cameras, lab equipment, etc. If you have anything else specific you would like your money to be used for exclusively, you can let us know and we’ll honor your wish.
If you would like to donate / support us in other ways, such as helping us purchasing equipment or sponsoring us with products that we might need for our scientific work, we would greatly appreciate it too. Feel free to contact us and discuss it with us.
Coral Reef & Rainforest Conservation Project is an environmental conservation fully registered with the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit organization, under reg. no. 2023030092576-13.
