Strengthening conservation through collaborations: CRCP joins the Development or Siquijor Heritage Trail workshop

Last week, September 22-25, we were grateful to have been invited by the Department of Tourism to present — along with other key experts — to take part in the four-day workshop on the Development of the Siquijor Heritage Trail, held in the Province of Siquijor.

This gave us the opportunity to revisit Siquijor’s natural heritage, broadcasting our island’s rich biodiversity and key endemic species, why it is so important to protect it and how in the tourism sector, professionals play a critical role of ambassadors and guardians.

Conservation is strongest when it is built through collaboration and sharing knowledge. By bringing together local communities, government agencies, tourism stakeholders, heritage experts, conservation organisations, and other partners, we hope to see Siquijor work towards a model of tourism that celebrates its heritage and biodiversity while helping safeguard it for generations to come.

Siquijor has so much to offer, it’s all of our roles and responsibility to preserve it too. 💙

Thank you to the Department of Tourism – Negros Island Region, to the Siquijor Tourism Provincial Tourism Office, all the facilitators and heritage experts along with all the participants for inviting us to take part in this event and sharing our advocacy.

Together, we can help ensure that Siquijor’s extraordinary heritage remains protected, valued, and celebrated for generations to come.
